How we select and manage cattle
Every animal on paper, and in person.
What we measure, how we test, and what gets culled.
| Registered | Every animal is registered with the American Angus Association, and each profile links to its official record. |
| Genomic testing | Every calf born here is sampled for Angus GS, so its EPDs pick up genomic information once results post. |
| AI and embryo transfer | We use AI and embryo transfer to bring outside genetics into the herd. |
| Performance data | We submit birth weights, weaning weights, udder scores, hip height, scrotal circumference, hair shed and as much other data as we can collect. |
| Visual appraisal | Structure, feet, udders and disposition are judged in person. If it doesn’t look or feel right, the numbers don’t save it. |
| Beef Quality Assurance | Cody has been BQA certified since April 2025. |

Cody Deluisio, herd manager.
I grew up in western Pennsylvania and started Deluisio Angus in 2023, after early years with cattle that went from one disaster to the next. Registered Angus were the ones that thrived on pasture, bred back and calved unassisted, so I moved my whole herd to them.
